We seek patent protection of inventions originating from our ongoing research and development activities that are determined to be commercially important to our business. Research and development activities include the creation of novel formulations comprised of combinations of existing nutraceutical and pharmaceutical compounds in addition to novel therapeutic agents. Other research activities include the creation of topical lotions, sprays and ointments, as well as process improvements for the manufacture of said products.
We have taken, and will continue to take, an aggressive approach in protecting our intellectual property and/or license rights through patent protection and competent legal advice regarding contractual involvements. Although the primary purpose of our intellectual property is to deter competition, it also may provide a potential revenue source through licenses. We are pursuing barriers to market entry by competitors as well as strong brand identity through our intellectual property activities.
